Creative Future, ‘Dreamy Place Festival’ & VR headsets.

October 2023.

This month I signed up and subscribed to Creative Future’s Arts Health forum. They specialise in supporting creative people, underrepresented artists and communities facing barriers and inequality to opportunity.

I also met with Jamie Weld, director of videoclub to discuss Dreamy Place Festival a new seven-day programme of art, creative tech and digital culture in October 2023 in Brighton & Hove and Crawley. I also signed up to their newsletter and visited their event ‘Only a Few Find the Way’ beneath Brighton station, Usually off limits to the public, the secret 80-metre tunnel was transformed into an immersive installation of sound, video and light.

I Met with Bowen Tan at South East Dance for a mentoring session learning more about the ways he uses his Oculus Quest 2 VR headset.

.I applied for the Phoenix Open Studio award 2023.

I also started attending the Figment Arts Studio, enabling me to share my work with other artists in a supportive and informal creative environment. This helped me make new connections, build my artist network and find out about opportunities for exhibitions and commissions.

I Visited Rose Hill music venue and creative hub, Brighton to scope out as a potential location for filming later in my project.
