AR & 3D Scanning

February/March 2024.

I attended a workshop with Simon Wilkinson @Brightblack Productions and Willow Ritchie @Level-3 Productions to learn about 3D scanning and augmented reality techniques.

I used my stop motion clay model ‘Max in a Million’ scanning this using Brightblack’s professional 3D scanner. This used a Lazy Susan to allow for an accurate & stable digital scan. More than 100 photos are taken as the model spins creating an exact digital copy which can then be edited using software including Mixamo & Blender to add animation filters and movements.
